The Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center welcomed its 100,000th visitor with a basketful of prizes on March 27. Donna Arcidiacono of Bucks County walked into the Center to spend some time sightseeing while her daughter was at rowing practice. "This place is great!" she said. "The exhibits really get you thinking about water and its important role in our lives. I haven't been down here in years, but I'm definitely coming back."
Karen Young, the Interpretive Center's new Director, adds, "We're very excited that 100,000 people have chosen to visit our Center. Everything we do, individually and collectively, affects the river - the source of our drinking water. It is our hope that by visiting the Center, more people will develop an active interest in becoming stewards of the environment."
