The Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center is the latest gem to adorn Philadelphia's Benjamin Franklin Parkway, home to some of the city's, and the nation's, leading cultural institutions.

Once you're at the Interpretive Center, you're also within easy walking distance of:

Not far upstream from the Center you'll find Philadelphia's famous Boathouse Row. These beautiful buildings serve many functions, but are best known as training centers for dedicated rowers who are on the water in all seasons.

Three new trails and a public park along the river connecting to Center City south of the Water Works lead urban explorers naturally to the Interpretive Center.

Several docks are planned along the lower Schuylkill connecting with the Delaware River, one at the Fairmount Water Works. So within a few years, visitors will be able to arrive at the Interpretive Center by land and water.
